Needles
A pair of 5.00mm knitting needles.
A 5.00mm circular knitting needle (optional).
Wool needle for sewing in ends.
Tension
17 sts and 36 rows to 10cm over garter st, using 5.00mm needles.
Note 1: When increasing, if sts no longer fit comfortably on needle you may switch to a circular needle but cont working backwards and forwards in rows, not rounds.
Note 2: You may cut and rejoin the yarn so each colour change occurs at beg of row (as in our Shawlette) or you can cont knitting, allowing the colour change to occur within the row.
Shawl
Using a pair of 5.00mm needles, cast on 2 sts.
1st row: Knit.
2nd row: Knit.
3rd row: K1, M1, K1 … 3 sts.
Knit 3 rows garter st.
7th row: K2, M1, K1 … 4 sts.
Knit 3 rows garter st.
Beg Patt:
1st row: K2, M1, knit to last 2 sts, K2tog.
2nd row: Knit to last 2 sts, M1, K2.
3rd row: Knit.
4th row: Knit.
Last 4 rows form patt.
Cont in patt until there are 92 sts.
Knit 2 rows garter st.
Cast off.
Finishing
Sew in all ends.
