NEEDLES:
A pair of 4.50mm knitting needles.
Wool needle for sewing up.
TENSION:
18 sts and 26 rows to 10cm over stocking st, using 4.50mm needles.
BEANIE
Using 4.50mm needles, cast on 53 (59-67-71) sts.
1st row: K2, * P1, K1, rep from * to last st, K1.
2nd row: K1, * P1, K1, rep from * to end.
Last 2 rows form rib.
Work a further 4 rows rib.
Work in stocking st until Beanie measures 8 (9-9-11) cm
from beg, ending with a knit row.

Shape Crown:
1st row: K1, * K2tog, K5, rep from * to end … 43 (49-

2nd and alt rows: Purl.

7th row: K1, * K2tog, K2, rep from * to end.
9th row: K1, * K2tog, K1, rep from * to end.
11th row: K1, * K2tog, rep from * to end.
12th row: P0 (1-0-1), * P2tog, rep from * to end …

Break off yarn, run end through rem sts, draw up tightly
and fasten off securely.
EARS (make 4)
Using 4.50mm needles, cast on 8 (8-10-10) sts.
Work 2 rows stocking st.
3rd row: K1, inc in next st, K4 (4-6-6), inc in next st, K1
… 10 (10-12-12) sts.
Work 5 rows stocking st, beg with a purl row.
9th row: K4 (4-5-5), K2tog, K4 (4-5-5) … 9 (9-11-11) sts.

Cast off.
FINISHING
Join back seam of Beanie. Sew two Ear pieces tog, leaving cast off edges open. Rep for rem two pieces. Sew cast off edges of Ears to top of Beanie. Sew in all ends.
