Please use only the yarn specified. Another yarn is likely to yield different results. Quantities are approximate as knitting styles may vary between knitters. Check the ball bands to ensure all yarn is from the same dye lot.
CROCHET HOOK & EQUIPMENT:
A 5.00mm crochet hook.
Wool needle for sewing in ends.
Yarn for fringing if desired.
TENSION:
16 tr and 9 rows to 10cm over basketweave pattern, using 5.00mm crochet hook.

RUG
Base Triangle:
Using 5.00mm and working two ends of Cosy Wool as one, ch 103 (135 - 191).
Row 1: Tr into the 3rd ch from hook and in every ch along, turn.
Row 2: Ch 2, *fptr around next 4 sts, bptr around next 4 sts, repeat from *
until 1st remains. Htr in turning ch from previous row. Turn.
Row 3: Ch 2, *bptr around next 4 sts, fptr around next 4 sts, repeat from *
until 1st remains. Htr into turning ch from previous row. Turn.
Row 4: Ch 2, *bptr around next 4 sts, fptr around next 4 sts, repeat from *
until 1st remains. Htr into turning ch from previous row. Turn.
Row 5: Ch 2, *fptr around next 4 sts, bptr around next 4 sts, repeat from *
until 1st remains. Htr into turning ch from previous row. Turn.
Repeat rows 2-5 until piece measures 100 (150- 165) cm from the beginning, fasten off.
FINISHING
Weave in all ends.
FRINGING (OPTIONAL)
To add fringing to the rug, begin by cutting equal lengths of yarn. Fold three strands of yarn for one fringe, forming a loop at one end.
Take your hook and ins the hook from the back of the work, draw the loop through the edge stitch of one end of the scarf. Secure the fringing by pulling the ends of the yarn through the loop.
Repeat this process on every third stitch until the end of the row.
Repeat for the other end. You may comb out the yarn to create a fluffier fringe.

Alternative Yarns
When substituting Makr Cosy Wool, choose a yarn that can achieve the pattern tension of 16 tr and 9 rows to 10cm over basketweave pattern, using a 5.00mm crochet hook while working two ends together.
Suitable alternatives may include wool, wool-blend or durable synthetic yarns with enough body to create a structured basketweave texture. Because this rug is designed for floor use, choose a yarn that is durable, resilient and suitable for regular wear.
Customisation Ideas
- Work the rug in a single neutral shade for a classic textured finish.
- Hold two different colours together to create a subtle marled effect.
- Use a contrasting yarn for the optional fringe.
- Omit the fringe for a cleaner, more minimal finish.
- Adjust the length by working more or fewer repeats of Rows 2-5, while maintaining the original width for the selected size.
Care Instructions
Follow the care instructions provided on the yarn label used for the project. For a wool or wool-blend rug, avoid excessive agitation and use an appropriate gentle cleaning method.
Dry flat where possible and reshape while damp. Avoid high heat, which may shrink or distort the fibres. Vacuum gently or shake out loose debris between washes, taking extra care around any added fringe.
