Alternative Yarns

When substituting Ficio Noya Yarn, choose a yarn that can achieve the pattern tension of 24 sts and 30 rows to 10cm over stocking st, using 4.00mm needles.

Suitable alternatives may include bamboo, cotton, bamboo-cotton blends or other smooth, lightweight yarns with good stitch definition. Because the back features a chevron lace pattern, choose a yarn that clearly shows yarn overs and decreases without obscuring the lacework.

Important: Match the specified tension and finished fabric rather than relying only on yarn weight labels. Work a generous tension swatch before beginning, particularly over the lace pattern, as a substitute yarn may alter the finished measurements, drape, lace definition and total yarn quantity required.

Customisation Ideas

  • Work the cardigan in a solid colour to emphasise the chevron lace pattern on the back.
  • Use a contrasting colour for the Neckband and Front Bands.
  • Choose decorative buttons to personalise the front opening.
  • Adjust the sleeve length before shaping the sleeve top for a customised fit.
  • Lengthen the body before beginning the armhole shaping for a less cropped silhouette.

Care Instructions

Follow the care instructions provided on the yarn label used for the project. Wash gently using a method suitable for the selected fibre and reshape while damp.

Dry flat where recommended to help maintain the chevron lace panel, set-in sleeves and front bands. Store folded rather than hanging to avoid stretching, and take care not to snag the lacework during washing or storage.
