How to Knit the Bon Bon Neck Roll

Create a decorative knitted neck roll cushion with contrasting yarn details and gathered ends. The cover is worked as one rectangular piece, sewn lengthways around a neckroll cushion insert, then finished with twisted cords threaded through eyelet rows at each end.

The original pattern uses Veronica yarn as the main colour and Halo yarn as the contrast colour, with simple stocking stitch and decorative eyelet shaping.

You Will Need

• 3 x 100g balls of Veronica yarn by Lincraft (MC)
• 1 x 50g ball of Halo yarn by Lincraft (CC)
• 7mm knitting needles
• Yarn needle
• Neckroll cushion insert

Pattern Instructions

Using CC and 7mm knitting needles cast on 44 sts and knit 3 rows.

Change to MC and knit in st st for 10 rows.

Next row: K3 * yfwd, sl 1, K1, psso, K6 * rep from * to * to end.

Next row: P.

Continue in st st for another 10 rows.

Change to CC and knit 2 rows.

Change to MC and st st for 36 rows.

Change to CC and knit 2 rows.

Change to MC and st st for 10 rows ending on a wrong side row.

Next row: K3 *K3* yfwd, sl 1, K1, psso, K6 * rep from * to * to end.

Continue in st st for another 10 rows.

Change to CC and knit 3 rows.

Cast off.

Make up:

Fold the length of knitting in half lengthways and with right sides facing sew down the entire length of the knitted piece. Turn right side out and place the neck roll insert inside. Make 2 long twisted cords in CC and thread through the holes, bring the twisted cord around each end and back to the front and tie tightly.

1. Remove the cushion insert before washing the knitted cover where possible.
2. Secure or loosen the twisted cords carefully before removing the insert.
3. Wash using the method and temperature recommended for the selected yarn.

5. Gently reshape the knitted cover after washing.
