Needles
A pair of 5.50mm knitting needles for Child size.
A 5.50mm circular knitting needle for Adult size.
Wool needle for sewing up.
Tension
16 sts and 35 rows to 10cm over garter st, using 5.50mm needles.
Note 1
If you prefer to work a one colour Cowl, you will require 3 (6) balls of Coaster yarn in the one colour.
Note 2
A circular needle is used for the Adult size to accommodate the large number of sts. Work backwards and forwards in rows, not rounds.
Cowl
Using 5.50mm needles and C1, cast on 82 (146) sts.
Using C1, knit 6 rows garter st.
Using C2, knit 6 rows garter st.
Using C3, knit 6 rows garter st.
Last 18 rows form stripe patt.
Cont in stripe patt until work measures approx 30 (40) cm from beg, ending with a complete stripe.
Cast off.
Finishing
Matching stripes, join seam. Sew in all ends.
