FINISHING

Alternative Yarns

When substituting Lincraft Cuddles, choose a yarn that can achieve the pattern tension of 18 sts and 30 rows to 10cm over patt, using 4.50mm needles.

Suitable alternatives may include soft yarns with a similar thickness and drape. Choose a yarn with enough stitch definition for the triangle stitch pattern to remain clearly visible while still producing a soft and flexible blanket.

Important: Match the specified tension and finished fabric rather than relying only on the yarn weight description. Work a generous tension swatch before beginning, as a substitute yarn may alter the finished measurements, drape and total yarn quantity required.

Customisation Ideas

  • Work the blanket in a single colour to emphasise the triangle stitch pattern.
  • Use a tonal or lightly variegated yarn for subtle colour variation.
  • Adjust the finished length by working more or fewer repeats of the 24-row pattern.
  • Use a contrasting colour for the beginning and ending purl borders.
  • Make a matching cushion cover using the same triangle stitch pattern.

Care Instructions

Follow the care instructions provided on the yarn label used for the project. Wash gently using a method suitable for the selected fibre and reshape while damp.

Dry flat where recommended to help maintain the triangle stitch pattern and overall dimensions. Store folded to avoid unnecessary stretching, and take care not to snag the textured stitches during use or washing.
