MEASUREMENTS

Yarn Required:

NEEDLES:

A pair of 4.00mm knitting needles.
A 4.00mm circular knitting needle, 40cm long.
Wool needle for sewing up.

REQUIREMENTS:

TENSION:

22 sts and 30 rows to 10cm over stocking st, using 4.00mm needles.

BACK:

Using a pair of 4.00mm needles and C1, cast on 101 (113-123-135) sts.
1st row: K2, * P1, K1, rep from * to last st, K1.
2nd row: K1, * P1, K1, rep from * to end.
Last 2 rows form rib.
Work a further 6 rows rib.

Beg Stripe Patt:

Using C2, work 2 rows stocking st.
Using C1, work 2 rows stocking st.
Last 4 rows form stripe patt. **

Shape Raglan Armholes:

Keeping stripe patt correct, cast off 2 sts at beg of next 2 rows … 97 (109-119-131) sts.

Dec one st at each end of next row, then every alt row until 61 (65-67-71) sts rem.

Shape Neck:

Next row: K2tog, K20 (22-22-24), turn.

Dec one st at raglan edge in every alt row 12 (13-13-14) times, AT SAME TIME, dec one st at neck edge in every alt row 2 (3-3-4) times, then every 4th row 5 times … 2 sts.

Cont in stripe patt and inc one st at each end of next row, then every 8th (6th-4th-4th) row until there are 71 (65- 63-83) sts, then every 10th (8th-6th-6th) row until there are 77 (83-93-101) sts.

Cont in stripe patt without shaping until work measures approx 43cm (or length desired) from beg, ending with same stripe row as Back to beg of raglan armholes.

Shape Raglan:

Keeping stripe patt correct, cast off 2 sts at beg of next 2 rows … 73 (79-89-97) sts.

Sizes S And M Only:

Dec one st at each end of next row, then every 4th row until 65 (73) sts rem.
Purl 1 row.

Sizes L And XL Only:

Dec one st at each end of next 3 rows.
Purl 1 row … (83-91) sts.
Rep last 4 rows (1-3) time/s … (77-73) sts.

All Sizes:

Dec one st at each end of next row, then every alt row until 9 sts rem.
Purl 1 row.
Leave sts on a stitch holder.

NECKBAND:

Join raglan seams, matching stripes and noting that tops of Sleeves form part of neckline.

With right side facing, using 4.00mm circular needle and C1, beg at left back raglan seam and [K2tog, K5, K2tog] across sts from left Sleeve stitch holder, knit up 20 (21- 21-23) sts along left front neck, knit across sts from Front stitch holder, knit up 20 (21-21-23) sts along right front neck, [K2tog, K5, K2tog] across sts from right Sleeve stitch holder, then [K2tog, K31 (33-35-37), K2tog] across sts from Back stitch holder … 104 (108-112-118) sts.

Knit 7 rounds stocking st.
Cast off.

FINISHING:

Matching stripes, join side and Sleeve seams. Sew pocket base in position. Sew in all ends.

Alternative Yarns

When substituting Lincraft Grasslands 8ply, choose a yarn that can achieve the pattern tension of 22 sts and 30 rows to 10cm over stocking st, using 4.00mm needles.

Suitable alternatives may include smooth 8ply wool, wool blends or other yarns with similar drape and stitch definition. Because the jumper uses two colours, choose yarns with comparable thickness and fibre characteristics so the stripe pattern remains even throughout the garment.
