Alternative Yarns
When substituting Lincraft Grasslands 8ply, choose a yarn that can achieve the pattern tension of 22 sts and 30 rows to 10cm over stocking st, using 4.00mm needles.
Suitable alternatives may include smooth 8ply wool, wool blends or other yarns with similar drape and stitch definition. Because the jumper uses two colours, choose yarns with comparable thickness and fibre characteristics so the stripe pattern remains even throughout the garment.
Customisation Ideas
- Choose two high-contrast colours to emphasise the narrow stripe pattern.
- Use two tonal shades for a softer, more subtle striped effect.
- Work the pocket in a contrasting stripe sequence for added visual interest.
- Adjust the sleeve length where indicated in the pattern for a customised fit.
- Use C1 for the ribbing and neckband to create a consistent framed finish.
Care Instructions
Follow the care instructions provided on the yarn label used for the project. Wash gently using a method suitable for the selected fibre and reshape while damp.
Dry flat where recommended to help maintain the raglan shaping, stripe alignment and pocket structure. Store folded rather than hanging to avoid stretching the garment, and take care to support the pocket when washing or reshaping.
