Create these cosy baby booties in blue or white using garter and stocking stitch. Optional: add a small motif to the front of each bootie.

Instructions

1. Step 1: Cast on 35 sts. 1st and alt rows: Knit. 2nd Row: (K1. yfwd. K16, yfwd) twice. K1 (39 sts). (On knit row, K into back of yfwd st)
2. Step 2: 4th Row: (K1. yfwd. K18, yfwd) twice. K1 (43 sts). 6th Row: (47 sts) K 11 rows garter st.

Shape Toe

1. 1st Row (rs): K19 K2tog K5 Slip1 K1 psso, Sl 1 yf. Turn.
2. 2nd Row: K2tog, K5. Sl1. K1. psso. Sl 1 P. yf. Turn.
3. 3rd & 4th Row: As 2nd row.
4. 5th Row: K2tog. K5. Sl1. K1. psso. Sl1. Turn.
5. 6th Row: P2tog tbl. K5. P2tog. Sl1 P. Turn.
6. 7th & 8th Row: As 5th & 6th Row.
7. 9th Row: K2tog. K5. Sl1. K1 psso. Knit to end of row.
8. 10th Row: Purl.
9. 11th Row: K1. *P1. K1. Rep from * to end of row.
10. 12th Row: P1. *K1. P1. Rep from * to end of row. Rep last 2 rows for 6cm ending with 12th row.
11. Cast off in rib. Sew sole seam. Sew back seam reversing for folded top.

Optional: Hand sew a small motif to the front of each bootie.

Notes

• Work carefully through the yarn overs and K2tog/psso stitches to maintain shape.
• Use a soft cotton or wool yarn suitable for babies.
