Alternative Yarns
When substituting Lincraft Grace, choose a yarn that can achieve the pattern tension of 23 sts and 20 rows to 10cm over patt, using 6.00mm needles.
Suitable alternatives may include yarns of a similar weight and texture that will clearly show the cable pattern. Always work a tension swatch before beginning, as differences in fibre, loft and construction can affect the finished width, length and drape of the scarf.
Customisation Ideas
- Adjust the finished length by continuing in pattern until the scarf reaches your preferred measurement.
- Choose a solid or tonal yarn to highlight the textured cable pattern.
- Use a contrasting colour for a bold statement scarf.
- Add fringe or tassels to the ends after finishing.
- Select a soft wool or wool-blend yarn for extra warmth and texture.
Care Instructions
Follow the care instructions provided on the yarn label used for the project. Gently reshape the scarf after washing and dry flat where recommended.
Avoid hanging the scarf while wet, as the weight of the fabric may cause it to stretch. Store folded or loosely rolled and take care not to snag the cable texture.
