Alternative Yarns
When substituting Ficio Noya, choose a yarn that can achieve the pattern tension of 24 sts and 34 rows to 10cm over stocking st, using 4.00mm needles.
Suitable alternatives may include soft bamboo, cotton, bamboo-cotton blends or other smooth yarns with similar drape and stitch definition. Choose yarns of comparable thickness and fibre characteristics for the main and contrast colours so the stripe pattern remains even throughout the garment.
Customisation Ideas
- Choose two contrasting colours to emphasise the narrow stripe pattern.
- Use two tonal shades for a softer, more subtle striped effect.
- Work the main body in a solid colour and use the contrast colour only for the sleeves.
- Adjust the sleeve length where indicated in the pattern for a customised fit.
- Lengthen or shorten the body before beginning the armhole shaping to suit the wearer.
Care Instructions
Follow the care instructions provided on the yarn label used for the project. Wash gently using a method suitable for the selected fibre and reshape while damp.
Dry flat where recommended to help maintain the stripe alignment, rolled crew neck and overall garment shape. Store folded rather than hanging to avoid stretching the sweater over time.
